This has been one of the most incredible food weeks of my life and this recipe is the result! Shrimp DeJonghe was created by Henri, Pierre, and Charles DeJonghe in the late 19th century at their hotel and restaurant on East Monroe Street. I experimented with the original and reimagined recipes until I arrived at my version — perfectly cooked shrimp, a rich and aromatic sauce, topped with a golden blanket of seasoned breadcrumbs. Check out the link in my bio for the complete recipe and subscribe

The people ordering butterfly shrimp aren’t here for the shrimp… they’re here for the cream sauce. 😂 So I took that personally & made buttery lemon garlic shrimp & paired it with a buttery, lemony, garlicky rice that honestly makes it hard to go back to butterfly shrimp with regular rice again. Steps: Make the rice: In a pot, add a big knob of butter & plenty of minced garlic. Sauté until the garlic starts turning slightly golden. Optionally add chili flakes, well-washed rice, plenty of lemon z
